Jim Engh Designed Montane Golf Club
What is a "montane" golf course? By definition, a montane is a biogeographic zone characterized by a mixed forest of pine, fir, spruce and aspen.

Four Mile Ranch Golf Club spans terrain that features a diverse spectrum of plant, wildlife and geologic features. The unique terrain and topography of Four Mile Ranch Golf Club will undoubdtedly become one of Jim Engh's most unique golf courses.

With 325 days of sunshine each year, you can golf every day. Award-winning course architect Jim Engh designed an 18-hole montane golf course worthy of the magnificent views, natural landscaping and the mile-high elevation at Four Mile Ranch. The course opens summer of 2008.

Did you know?
There aren't any bunkers at Four Mile Ranch Golf Club. There are, however, features called 'Hogbacks', which are shale mini-mesas that mimic the surrounding uplift mountains. According to Engh, bunkers were unnecessary because they would have distracted golfers rather than enhance the overall experience. As Jim summed perfectly, “...it would turn a nuance into a nuisance.”
